Our orchards cling to the slopes and high ground of the Loess Hills overlooking the Missouri River valley near Mondamin, Iowa.
On a trip to this area in 1894, my great grandfather chanced to purchase some apples from a local farmer.  Remembering the taste to be unusually good, he returned the following year, purchased the farmer's land and started planting his first orchard.
Joyce and myself, along with our son Jim, and his wife Renee, still own much of the land which great grandfather acquired nearly a century ago.
The farm now consists of nearly 70 acres of apple orchards plus various acreages of other fruits and vegetables.  The existing older orchards were planted by my father Ellis Small, who spent his lifetime as an apple grower.
Apples and many other food products are sold here at the Farm and at our Market in Mapleton.  Each year we ship or apples to a growing list of customers nationwide and would be glad to include you on our list.
We invite you to stop by soon to visit our orchards, sample our apples, sip our cider and just plain make yourselves at home.  Please use our
map for directions.

Thank You,
Russ Small
